The Okavango Delta in northern Botswana is one of Africa’s last remaining true wilderness areas and provides a refuge for huge concentrations of wildlife.
Botswana’s Chobe National Park links the Okavango Delta to other protected areas in north-eastern Botswana and helps to safeguard vital wildlife corridors.
The Moremi Game Reserve was established in 1963 to protect some of the most important habitats in the eastern Okavango Delta.
The Kalahari Desert, spanning Botswana, Namibia, and South Africa, is one of Botswana’s key ecosystems. Its vast sands cover much of the country, giving the Okavango Delta its name as the “jewel of the Kalahari.”
If you were able to travel back in time tens of thousands of years, the area of northern Botswana known as the Makgadikgadi Pans would appear radically different to how it looks today.
A “mobile” safari, as it’s known here, follows the tradition of the original Kenyan safaris of the 1920s. Your entire camp moves with you from place to place, creating a seamless journey through the wilderness.
On our serviced safaris, everything is taken care of by your attentive camp staff, who travel in a custom-designed supply vehicle. Unlike lodges – where guides and staff may change as you move between locations – your dedicated guide and team stay with you for the entire safari. This continuity creates a truly personal, connected, and immersive experience.
A serviced safari is a fully supported mobile safari experience for up to 12 guests, departing on set dates. You’ll have your own safari vehicle and professional guide, accompanied by a dedicated backup team—including a driver, cook, and camp assistant—who travel in a separate supply vehicle.
Your camp staff take care of every detail: setting up and dismantling camp, preparing wholesome meals over an open fire, and ensuring your comfort throughout. Accommodation is in spacious walk-in Meru-style tents, each with its own en-suite bucket shower and private bush loo.
On a serviced safari, you can join like-minded travelers as part of a small group, or reserve the entire departure as a private safari—perfect for families, honeymooners, or friends traveling together.
For added flexibility, you may also book a private vehicle and guide (subject to availability) on any of our scheduled safaris. This allows you to enjoy the atmosphere of a shared camp while exploring at your own pace.
We currently offer four serviced safari itineraries: The Great North Road, Safari Authentic, Moremi Magic, and Kalahari Migration Safari—each one a true mobile camping adventure.
Are you looking for an exceptional safari experience – something different … something authentic … something real … an experience where you can see, smell, taste and feel Africa?
There is a certain magic in gathering around the campfire on a crisp winter’s night—hearing the distant rumble of a lion, the gentle call of a Scops Owl, and gazing up at a sky glittering with millions of stars. As you drift off to sleep beneath canvas, you know you are part of something timeless and truly wild.
Our mobile safaris are designed for travelers who want more than just a safari—they are for those who long to feel Africa, not simply see it.
“Mobiles” are the most authentic way to experience an African safari. Your camp is set up in private wilderness campsites exclusively for your group, where you’ll sleep under canvas surrounded by nature. With small groups, a team of attentive camp staff, and the expertise of an experienced professional guide, you’ll discover Africa in its purest form.
