I definitly recommend this tour if you are a safari enthusiast.Posted onVerified Viaggio nel Delta Okavango in campo tendato Il viaggio e' stato molto bello e suggestivo; ovviamente richiede uno spirito di adattamento poichè un campo tendato itinerante comporta qualche sacrificio. Alcuni trasferimenti possono risultare faticosi in relazione allo stato delle strade e delle piste, ma non ci è pesato più di tanto. Lo Staff è stato molto efficente e gentile, disponibile per ogni esigenza anche alimentare. Vitto vario e molto buono con cuoco bravissimo. Flora e faura in quantità notevoli ed avvistamenti rilevanti, grazie alla perizia della nostra guida Maikano e soprattutto discreta presenza di turisti che ci ha consentito di godere pienamente dei safari, spesso da soli e senza alcuna fretta. Molto bello il trasferiamento aereo per Maun con sorvolo del Delta. Esperienza molto negativa la presenza di decine di topi nel campo di Mababe, che dal calare della sera hanno disturbato la nostra cena e sopratutto tentato di entrare nelle tende passando per piccoli fori ; situazione molto spiacevole! Capisco che il campo è stato attrezzato in quella zona per l'indisponibilità di Noremi, ma francamente quelle tre notti in quelle condizioni ce le saremmo certamente risparmiate. Peccato, senza questa nota negativa il viaggio sarebbe stato veramente eccellente.Posted onVerified Truly memorable experience We have travelled the world. Driven in the Andes, toured Madagascar, explored South East Asia, dived the Great Barrier Reef. NOTHING compares to our 8 days with Okavango Expeditions. It was well organized, very comfortable and so much fun. The staff were very friendly, very helpful and beautiful people. Delicious, fresh, homemade meals were served daily . The accommodations were beyond what I ever expected ....we were so very well taken care of. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, very personable and always did his very best to make our trip not only educational, exciting and filled with new experiences but his love and enthusiasm for his work helped us better relate to the beauty of what we were seeing and learning... relating to the creatures, the landscape, the people and the environment. We did the 8 day Safari Authentic. We had no idea what to expect ... my happiness equation to life is "Happiness = |Expectation - Reality| " .... in all categories the reality of this trip exceeded our expectations ...thus we were very happy. Isaac, our guide, was a wealth of knowledge ... showing us new sightings around every corner ... as an ecologist I was able to share a variety of my knowledge as well ...so we had mutual learning. Kevin's cooking was fantastic... a new surprise every day. Camp staff ...Kef, Small, and Mobale (spelling?) were welcoming and thoroughly professional. From our guide and the team that cooked and cleaned was just amazing. The food was great with a fresh cake baked every day. The animals were just out of this world. I was met at the airport, my luggage checked through for the small plane ride to the bush, and introductions proactively made to my traveling companions. Our guide met us in the bush with cold drinks and set the stage for us to be a "family" for the next 11 days. Isaac set expectations well throughout the trip, on our first day letting us know that we'd go to camp and get a quick snack, but that there were cheetah's in the area and he'd like to try and get us to see them since that is why we came. It was a great start and got better from there. The men at camp took tremendous care of us, with hot showers, fresh bread daily, amazing soup, and lots of smiles and laughter. Whenever we had an experience outside of Okavango Expeditions, such as mocorro or motor boat tours, Isaac would let us know what to bring, including cash for tips. Before travel days when we moved to new campsites, he'd again make sure we packed whatever we would need for an entire day so we had it available. Those simple things made the trip run smoothly AND WE HAD THE MOST AMAZING ANIMAL SIGHTINGS. 22 lions, 2 lion cubs maybe 6 weeks old, 10 cheetahs total, hundreds of elephants and buffalo, pelicans creating a net and fishing together, skimmer chicks and more. The main thing that stays with me is the care that was taken of the guests. As a female traveling alone, I felt safe, looked after, welcome and included. I highly recommend Okavango Expeditions and will use them again.Posted onVerified Highly recommend this as a female traveling solo This was an epic experience! I was met at the airport by Phinneas, who made sure we all got on the right flight to the bush, with our luggage. Our guide Isaac met us, welcomed us, and put us on a Cheerah sighting right away. The guys in camp were friendly and took great care of us, feeding us 3 course meals every day...I am not a soup person, but sthe soup at dinner and the daily fresh bread at lunch were fabulous. Everything was explained clearly so we knew when to get up, what to bring with us, if we should bring a tip for external adventures. Being in a mokoro and also motor boat at the end were real highlights. It was my first time traveling solo in Africa and I felt not just safe, but looked after and cared about. I highly recommend this trip and company.Posted onVerified Moments to remember forever I’m writing this review 3 weeks post my unforgettable experience in Botswana aboard Okavango Expeditions “Authentic Safari” and I’m still reliving the moments as I share with family and friends who marvel with envy at my photos and stories of me incredible animal encounters. This is a MUST DO, DREAM EXPERIENCE!!! I can not praise enough on the professionalism of our guide Paul. His passion, care and kindness was felt by all and our group of 7 felt so fortunate to be in his care. Our crew were also marvellous. The food was incredible and the service and hospitality 5 star in a glamping environment. You chose Okavango Expeditions because you want to observe the behaviour of the animals. This is not a safari where you simply “tick” boxes. We stopped and watched a pride of lions plan their attack, a leopard drag his prey from a hide and up a tree and so many more amazing behavioural experiences that many other companies passed on because of their time restrictions. Often the o my vehicle at these special moments you feel as if you are the only vehicle at times in the park. From the food, service, hot showers, comfy beds and moments to treasure forever I am forever grateful for my experience with Okavango Expeditions. My advice, don’t wait to visit Botswana.
